Job Description
DescriptionSnow College’s School of Natural Science and Mathematics invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Chemistry. Teaching responsibilities may include General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Forensic Chemistry, Introductory Organic/Biochemistry, and General Education introductory chemistry courses. These courses serve students majoring in Chemistry as well as those pursuing pre-health, natural sciences, and related fields.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field required
PhD and/or previous teaching experience preferred
Demonstrated ability and a record of excellence in teaching.
Ability to teach courses through diverse instructional methods (face to face, asynchronous online, and interactive video conference (IVC)).
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in oral and written English.
Strong interpersonal skills: ability to be collegial with faculty/staff/admin, community/industry partners, and be respectful and encouraging of students.
Be committed to facilitating the growth of the Chemistry and Physical Science program at Snow College.
Major Responsibilities/Duties
Teach chemistry courses through a variety of delivery modes and in multiple campus locations, including traditional face-to-face, asynchronous online, and Interactive Video Conference (IVC) to remote sites.
Regularly develop and evaluate curriculum and employ effective pedagogical practices that support student learning and success.
Mentor majors and prospective majors in Natural Science and Mathematics fields.
Be actively engaged in program recruitment and student retention efforts.
Develop collaborative relationships with colleagues at Snow College as well as colleagues at transfer institutions and with external constituents.
Participate in institutional committees and service to Snow College and the community at large to improve the student and faculty experience at Snow College.
Additional Information
This is a full-time tenure-track position with a professional commitment of 40+ hours per week and a 9-month schedule through Fall and Spring semesters (mid Aug-mid May).
This position start August 1, 2026
Salary: $52,735 - $55,511 starting salary depending on qualifications.
Additional Compensation: possibility for overload pay for courses taught beyond the base teaching load.
